Services

Our experienced team of board-certified ophthalmologists and optometrists offer comprehensive eye exams and a wide range of treatments for your eye care needs.

Cataract Surgery

Cataracts are a clouding of the natural lens in the eye that often progresses with age and decreases vision over time. Our experienced ophthalmologists specialize in cataract surgery, a safe and effective procedure that can restore clear vision. During this outpatient surgery, the cloudy lens is replaced with a clear, artificial lens. Our team uses state-of-the-art technology and techniques to ensure precise and minimally invasive cataract removal.

Some patients are interested in minimizing the need for glasses after cataract surgery, for which our surgeons have extensive expertise in toric, extended depth of focus, and multifocal intraocular lenses.

Glasses and
Contact Lenses

Our optometry department offers a wide range of options for vision correction to suit your unique preferences and lifestyle. Our collection of eyeglasses provides clarity and comfort, while enhancing your personal style. If you prefer a more discreet vision correction solution, we offer a variety of contact lenses, including daily disposables and multifocal contact lenses. Our optometrists are even trained in prescribing children’s glasses over the age of 5.

Some patients with certain medical conditions (e.g. keratoconus) may benefit from scleral or speciality contact lenses, which can often be covered by insurance. Our experienced team will help you find the perfect fit for your needs, ensuring your vision remains sharp and comfortable.

**Please note our ophthalmologists perform medical and surgical evaluations and DO NOT write prescriptions for glasses or contact lenses. Please book an appointment with one of our optometrists for this service**

Glaucoma Treatment

Glaucoma is a disease that leads to damage of the optic nerve and can result in vision loss or blindness. The treatment of glaucoma primarily aims to lower intraocular pressure (IOP) in the eye. Glaucoma treatment methods can vary depending on the type and severity of glaucoma but can include eye drops, laser, and microinvasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS).

Pterygium Surgery

A pterygium is a growth of tissue that starts on the tissue (conjunctiva) over the white part of the eye and extends onto the cornea. It can cause dry eye, irritation, astigmatism, and visual decline. It is colloquially called “surfer’s eye” because it is often precipitated by UV exposure from sunlight. The ophthalmologists at California Eye Clinic can monitor the condition and in some cases, may recommend surgery to improve vision or alleviate severe discomfort.

Eyelid Problems

Common eyelid issues encompass concerns such as eyelid drooping, ectropion, entropion, eyelid lesions, and nasolacrimal duct drainage problems. Our team of experienced ophthalmologists specializes in diagnosing and effectively treating these conditions. Dr. Hwang, with advanced training in oculoplastics, excels at crafting personalized treatment plans perfectly suited to your unique needs

Dry Eye

Dry eye can cause a myriad of symptoms such as irritation, blurred vision, and eye pain. Long-term management is often required to manage this chronic condition. Our providers are not only well versed in the ever expanding variety of treatment options, but can customize a personalized treatment plan to suit your needs and lifestyle.

Macular Degeneration

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the most common form and is a leading cause of vision loss in older adults. It causes progressive deterioration of the macula, the central part of the retina. This can lead to a loss of central vision, making it difficult to see fine details and causing blurriness or blind spots in one's field of vision. With our advanced imaging technology at our Antioch facility, we can diagnose, monitor, and connect to retinal specialists for patients who may need a higher level of care.
